And The Winners Are …
After 54 hours of ideas, customer validation, market surveys, coding, no sleep, and lots of good food, we’ve got our winners of the first Startup Weekend Hyderabad.
In first place, we have Park-e-mon who will get a $200 credit to Amazon AWS and 25,000 credits to ZipDial.
In second place, we have Optirate who has won the Bubble Sort package sponsored by Interview Street.
And in third place we have Desi Karaoke who has won a Golden Egg package from OzoneTel for the cloud telephony products.

Finding a place to stay in a new town/city in India is a harrowing task. You are unaware of the locations/areas, sceptic of brokers taking you for a ride and the paucity of time makes flat searching even more tougher. “Flat Finder”(Android Mobile Application) is a location based service that provides the user(tenant) an instant list of flats/houses available for rent/buy on the move by capturing his current coordinates using GPS. The application would support the following features for the buyer
The user shall be directed through a navigational map (google map) to the selected flats.
Information like how far the selected flat is from the work place, airport, nearest bus stand, railway station and supermarkets would be displayed.
The user can directly call or send an sms directly to the owner.
The seller will have the option restrict the access of his information only to his social circle or allow everyone to view his information. Flat finder provides the user the ability to evaluate options for the user on real time basis and at their own convenience. In short it is – Anytime Anywhere Flat searching.

M-KUBER is a SmartPay Financial Solutions initiative to provide mobile banking services targeting poor urban households and rural areas which are infeasible for regular banks to operate. Unfortunately, people in these areas are highly vulnerable to instability in their financial situation due to lack of proper financial information and planning With our easy-to-use mobile technology people can perform transactions like depositing, withdrawing, transferring and checking balance through our Kuber Agents in every locality. Our Kuber Centres act as mini banks and our customers are provided with mobile sim cards which are directly connected to their bank accounts to enable simple banking solutions. We also educate our target audience regarding various financial schemes available, in order to help them with financial planning which is need of the hour.
This is a intra-net platform targeted at educational institutes which integrates social media functionalities with the information portals of the school and also the facility and learning management systems. We envisage this product to be a one-stop shop for students, faculty and administration staff of a education institute. Its main feature will be its security and its intuitive and interactive user friendly interface. We will also have a Mobile Wallet functionality as well as a Mobile App which performs the main day to day operations. This portal can also address the legal issues faced when sharing information copyright material over public forms. Our USP will be the high degree of customization that we plan to provide each institute. As a initial project we are planning to make the product for our school(ISB) and we will try to get it tested and implemented here.

The whole idea is to make the Learning experiential for the kids in a fun-filled hands-on way to make it more enriching.
Food wastage is something that isn’t new in any type of society. But, we think that people aren’t aware of this particular issue. If one day we wake up and have no food to feed us, the society will not be able to run and people’s reaction will be unpredictable. Socially, we think that food wastage is something that occurs daily and is something that we should take into consideration every time we sit down on the dining table to fill our stomach.

NUTREATZ menu is moderate sized, and moderate-low priced offering a collection of ethnic and continental cuisine items with a common theme – healthy (low-fat, low cholesterol, natural ingredients), flavorful, and familiar. Our goal is to create the image of light, satisfying and still nutritious food.In addition to this, we believe we have a huge potential in breakfast delivery segment in this era or changing lifestyle. This has a huge B2B potential with the evolution of numerous social-cum-health clubs. This opportunity will be researched and developed on a trial basis. If successful, it could become a major new source of income with a minimal increase in staff or production space.
Startup Weekend Hyderabad in Less Than 48 Hours – Things to Remember
We only have 48 hours left before we get together at ISB and starting work on some awesome new startups and hacking some code!
Here’s a few things to remember:
- Think of some ideas you want to pitch. You will have 60 seconds to pitch your idea. If time permits, you may be able to pitch more than one idea. Pitches will not be more than 60 second under any circumstances.
- Your idea cannot be an existing startup that has launched. Startup Weekend is where people gather to take ideas and transform them into startups.
- Bring whatever you think you’re going to need to work, e.g. a laptop, paper, pens, mobile phone, snacks, caffeine, etc.
- You will need a Facebook account to be able to vote on the ideas that are being pitched. Please make sure you have a Facebook account.
- If your idea doesn’t get enough votes, don’t worry. Join another team and work with others on their idea.
- Please try to be inclusive and not turn people away from joining your team unless your team size is over 5 people.
- The Twitter Hashtag for Startup Weekend Hyderabad will be #swhyd – Please use it when tweeting about the event.
- The Flickr tag for Startup Weekend Hyderabad will be swhyd so please add the tag to any photos you upload to Flickr.
